Renovation brief – reconfigure the existing floor plan to take advantage of the stunning 280-degree views of Mauao and the beach front
With an expansive 250m2 floor area, the location of two existing service ducts and one structural post were the only restrictions to reconfiguring the apartment floor plan. Taking into consideration the three external walls of glazing, a new floor plan was developed giving each room access to stunning beach front views.
The challenge with so much glazing was to ensure enough functional storage was provided for daily living. An office space is tucked behind full height cabinetry doors in the dining room and paired back to back with wardrobe storage for the adjoining bedroom, additional internal lightwell voids ensure sunshine and fresh air circulate.
