Ultimate Homes, a twist of French country

My inspiration for Ultimate Homes stunning new show home was taken from the architecture of the home; exterior plaster finish arches and columns, covered outdoor living space with a fire, the shape of the building on the land creating an internal garden feeling, all suggested a relaxed country styled family home.

The kitchen was a great space to enhance this theme so I created a farm style feature Rangehood and gave it a French Country twist! Add a tumbled marble mosaic splash back, a timber mantle, wrought iron handles and the kitchen has a soul. A soft radius to the island bench top lends itself to the open plan living. The mantle is repeated in the lounge over the fire place and so the journey begins…

Using a warm neutral based colour palette I worked on adding layers of texture and interest, timber floors, textured carpets, tumbled marble mosaic tiles, loose weave curtain fabrics, shaggy floor rugs, metallic wallpapers. A dark cosy lounge, opposite a light and informal living kitchen area.

Colours and features are repeated throughout the home but in different forms, making moving from one space to the next a comfortable and seamless transition. Dressed with beautifully appointed furniture and linen it became a comfortable livable family home.
